Get back in the game.

Practical setup and recovery guidance for Apple TV, cloud services, consoles, controllers, and network quality.

Getting started

  1. Install the beta from TestFlight using the same Apple Account as the Apple TV.
  2. Pair a compatible controller in Apple TV Settings → Remotes and Devices → Bluetooth.
  3. Open xForceNow and connect only the services you use.
  4. Use Ethernet or strong 5 GHz / 6 GHz Wi‑Fi where available, and enable Game Mode on the television.

Account connection

GeForce NOW

Scan the QR code and complete NVIDIA’s device sign-in. Keep xForceNow open while it polls. Your tier controls provider-side resolution, frame rate, queue, and session limits.

Xbox

Use Microsoft’s device link and code. Xbox Cloud Gaming availability depends on Microsoft’s supported countries, subscription, catalog, and service status.

PlayStation

Remote Play can use console registration and, for supported remote workflows, a PlayStation account. PlayStation Cloud requires an eligible account, supported region, qualifying subscription, and provider catalog availability. Review the private handoff guide.

Controller troubleshooting

  • Confirm the controller is visible and connected in Apple TV Settings before opening a stream.
  • Update controller firmware using the manufacturer’s supported device.
  • If input is visible in menus but not gameplay, reopen the stream to rebuild the provider input channel.
  • For perceived lag, enable television Game Mode and disable motion smoothing. These television settings are commonly applied per HDMI input.
  • Adaptive triggers, touchpad, motion, and vibration vary by provider protocol and controller.

Stream quality

Start with Automatic quality. If video stutters, reduce bitrate or resolution before changing codec. Ethernet generally provides the most consistent latency. A local upscale changes output presentation, not the source stream resolution; the stream overlay distinguishes source and presented resolution when available.

TLS, ICE, queue, catalog, and allocation errors can originate from provider infrastructure, account eligibility, DNS, routers, or regional availability. Retry once, check the provider’s service status, and collect the concise error category rather than posting raw credentials or session data.

Console Remote Play

Enable Remote Play on the console, keep it updated, and register it while Apple TV is on the same network. Away-from-home play depends on both networks and NAT behavior. Local Network permission is required for discovery. Wake and Rest Mode availability depends on console settings and provider support.

Report a problem safely

Open a public support issue with app version/build, Apple TV model, tvOS version, provider, controller model, source/presentation resolution, network type, and steps to reproduce.

Never include: passwords, device codes, NPSSO values, OAuth tokens, registration keys, full console or account identifiers, session IDs, or unredacted logs.
